United Way helps those in Need
The 16th Annual United Way Golf Tournament presented by Performance Cars was held on Monday, August 24th at Twenty Valley Golf & Country Club. Last year’s tournament raised close to $40,000 and was used to fund 70 United Way local programs. Highlights of day included a hot and cold brunch, complimentary use of the driving range and putting green, and a motorized cart. Complimentary hole games included: “Closet to the Pin” sponsored by Critelli’s Fine Furniture, and a $10,000 “Hole in One” sponsored by HUB international. The Tim Atherton Band entertained guests as they sipped complimentary beverages from Diamond Estates Wines and Spirits. There was a raffle and silent auction with more than 80 prizes which included United Ways Appreciation Prize cart, a team photo, and complimentary gifts from Performance Cars. Also part of the day was a golf ball drop. Participant Rick Bassett won the $2,000 prize and generously donated $1,000 of it back to United Way.
