Celebrating the 101st Women's Day

The Women’s Committee CAW 199 hosted the annual International Women’s Day Fair held on March 4. It was an afternoon of exciting guest speakers including Maureen Sherman, Representative of First Ontario Credit Union, Marishka Glynne, Representative of Gillian’s Place, Charmaine Grace and Roxane Rysdae. Some booths included Learning Disabilities of Niagara Region, Bethlehem Place, Gillian’s Place, Child Advocacy, YWCA, Neighbours, Friends and Family Campaign, Women’s Addiction Recovery Mediation and Aids Niagara. The Lucy Project 2012 empowers young women in an artistic way. Many Lucy doll Sculptures were displayed, courtesy of the District School Board of Niagara. Pampered Chef provided many different dishes and treats. Darlene Norris from Teresa’s set up a table with her gluten, fat and dairy free baked goods. Vendors sold knickknacks, candles, jewelry, pottery, floral creations, greeting cards, and purses. There were terrific raffle prizes and free draws every 15 minutes.
