Celebration of Women in Music
BroadBand's 20th annual Celebration of Women in Music was held on March 4 with great music, delicious food, yummy desserts, raffles and draws. Entertainment for the afternoon was ‘Broadband’ an exciting group of five multitalented Niagara musicians. Laura Thomas, Beth Bartley, Betty Tauro, Neva Tesolin and Jeff Hale came together in 1993 and the rest is history. The band sings A capella and instrumental accompaniments in folk, rock, blues, Cajun and Celtic music styles. Guest soloist, Jane Ellington impressed the audience with her lovely voice. Residents of Hospice Niagara made stuffed animals called “Hospice Niagara Bears” that were for sale. Owner of Ryson’s Music Studio Anne Deyme donated terrific prizes including a “Daisy Rock guitar.” The Pampered Chef was on hand to serve a variety of dishes and some desserts. Darlene baked Scottish cookies using a recipe from the 1800’s and her products are gluten, fat and dairy free. All proceeds will support Hospice Niagara's programs and services.
