Seniors Fundraising Grows with Fertilizer Sale

The fundraising campaign for the new Thorold Seniors Centre started growing with a Fertilizer Sale on April 14. A goal to sell 400 bags of lawn and garden fertilizer had the volunteers busy at the Pine Street Plaza during the three-day event. Students from Thorold Secondary School earned community service hours by helping customers load their purchase, and waved signs to draw more customers. The third annual community promotion offered a deal on three types of Agrico fertilizers ranging in prices from $21 to $25 per bag. Proceeds from the sale will help purchase furnishings for the Centre, slated for construction this summer.
