Helping Those Who Can't Help Themselves
The Animal Assistance Society of Niagara held their annual Bazaar and Silent Auction on April 28. The non-profit group is dedicated to providing unwanted/abandoned pets with shelter, food, water and ultimately, a forever home. Proceeds from the event came from several tables, nicely lined with treasures at the rummage and penny sale tables. Lovely knitted items, delicious baked goods and a luncheon were also pleasing to the senses. Over 200 silent auction items on display included handbags, Barbie’s, clothing, dishes, antiques, photographs, gift/pet baskets and more. More than 100 local business and friends of Animal Assistance graciously donated the beautiful articles. The member supported group offers adoptions at a small fee and include spaying/neutering and vaccinations. The group encourages those interested to come out to a meeting and join a team of dedicated volunteers to foster an animal or bring awareness and education to the public at a local event.
