Hike for Hospice Niagara Raises $70,000
The 10th Annual Hike for Hospice Niagara raised $70,000 on Sunday, May 6 at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie. The charity event supports hospice palliative care in Niagara. Close to 400 participants walked 5 km in honour of a loved one, or attended the Celebrate A Life ceremony. Enbridge hosted a community barbecue, while Primetime Living offered treats for pets at the Doggy Rest Stop. The first Hospice patient to participate in the hike, John Newbury inspired John’s Journey as the top team raising more than $5,000 for the cause. Hospice’s 5 Car Draw was promoted with an early-bird special. Visit www.hospiceniagara.ca for details.
